Fitting parameters
| Syntax: |
SCALAR\FIT s1 { s2 ... }
|
The SCALAR\FIT command defines sI to be a scalar variable and
allows sI
to vary for a FIT command or a
MINUIT command. If
sI already is a scalar, the value of sI will be
unchanged. If sI is an existing variable, but not a scalar, it will be destroyed first. If
sI does not exist, it will be created and initialized to 1.
Use the SCALAR command with no
qualifier to fix a scalar, that is, to not allow it to vary in a fitting procedure.
The SCALAR command allows for limits to be placed
on a fitting parameter. Use the a[amin:amax]
syntax to create fit parameter a with lower limit
amin and upper limit
amax. To set an upper limit only, use
a[:amax], and to set a lower limit only, use
a[amin:]. These limits are only used by the
MINUIT command and are ignored by the
FIT command.
